UX/UI Design for Giro’s Product Pages
Giro’s B2C website sells bike and snow gear to millions of people across the United States. However, our team identified that we were losing sales on users that were clicking add to cart before selecting a specific color and size. At the time, the site did not indicate why the users product wasn’t successfully being added to cart which resulted in customer drop off. I prototyped the customer flow with additional notifications to inform the user what needed to be done before they could purchase their product.
The Problem
Giro’s product pages had no indication of whether a product had successfully been added to cart or messaging for when the user missed a step. Potential customers were leaving the site because the experience was clunky and unclear.
The Solution
I designed varying states of product description pages to clearly communicate to users who were trying to add products to their cart when steps had been missed. I also created a confirmation state to give the user feedback when they had successfully added a product to their cart.
